The goal of the squash program at Albany Academy for Girls and The Albany Academy is to promote lifelong participation in athletics and build and improve upon fundamental and advanced squash skills. Squash is a racquet sport played by two individuals in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The sport developed from at least five other sports involving racquets, gloves and balls having roots in the early 1500s in France. Student-athletes are provided with the tools to make them better players and increase their self-confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills.
